Bumper Ball
They say it started when a group of kids found some giant pinball bumpers behind the supermarket dumpsters. Where these giant bumpers came from is a story for another day.
There were no kits, no referees, and the only rule was winner stays on. You aimed, you launched, and you hoped the bounce did something useful before the other kid did.
The bumpers stayed. The arguments about whose goal it counted as stayed. Somehow the whole mess made it here - louder, faster, and still refusing to behave.

Game overview
Bumper Ball is a chaotic 1v1 football arcade game where you are the thing doing the kicking. There is no separate striker to control and none of that 4-4-2 nonsense - you drag to aim, release to launch across the pitch, and collide with the ball, the walls, the corner bumpers, and your opponent until something useful happens. Or something disastrous. Often both, in the same bounce.
Matches last 60 seconds (excluding timeouts). Score by getting the ball into your opponent's goal. Beyond the goals themselves, your final score also cares about the result, the goal difference, and how long the ball spends camping in the other half.
The pitch is built to keep everything moving. Corner bumpers turn neat clearances into sudden attacks. Sliding into your opponent can be defence, offence, or an accidental gift depending on the angle. Because everything keeps moving after you launch, the best players are not the ones mashing the hardest - they are the ones who launch, stop, read the scramble, and launch again with a plan.
How to play
Each match of Bumper Ball is a one-minute 1v1 on a pitch with goals at both ends and bumpers in the corners. You are the striker, the defender, and the chaos - launch yourself, ricochet off whatever gets in the way, and shove the ball into your opponent's goal before time runs out.
- Tap and drag anywhere to aim your blue character. Release to launch in that direction.
- Once you come to a stop, you can launch again.
- Bump into the ball or your opponent to score goals.
- Earn bonus points based on the match result, goal difference, and time the ball spends in your opponent's half.
Why players like it
Bumper Ball looks simple from the outside - aim, launch, bounce, hope - and then the first real scramble happens and you realise that no two matches are the same. Somehow, a match that lasts a minute still finds room for a comeback.
The joy is in how messy it stays without becoming unfair. One soft nudge can be smarter than a full-power smash. And nothing beats a nutmeg which sets you up for a goal as your opponent goes flailing past.
Players get it immediately. The people who keep playing are the ones hunting better angles, smarter bumper banks, and that smug feeling of parking the ball in the other half while the clock melts. If you like football that behaves like a bumper car fight, this one scratches the itch hard.
Tips and strategy
The first few matches feel like pinball with a football. After that, these habits start turning lucky bounces into goals you meant to score.
- Use the bumpers - they make you go further and faster. Bank shots are not a party trick here, they are half the game.
- Sometimes the smartest touch is not on the ball at all. If you can't reach the ball or don't have the right angle, clip your opponent and get them to do the dirty work.
- Keep the ball in your opponent's half when you can. Even when you're not scoring, that pressure quietly pads your score, and it forces them into awkward clearances instead of clean attacks.
- Put yourself in your opponent's shoes and think about what they're going to do. Intercept their lane, cut them off, or leave them alone for a second if their launch is about to bounce the ball somewhere useful for you. Reading the next two seconds is worth more than mashing every launch at full power.
FAQ
Can I score an own goal?
Yes. Whichever goalmouth the ball enters is the one that counts - last touch does not invent a special rule. Put it in your own net and your opponent gets the goal. There is no extra point deduction or slap on the wrist beyond that. A goal is a goal, whoever sent it in.
How long is a match?
Each match runs for 60 seconds (excluding timeouts). When the clock hits zero, the scoreboard locks in - goals, bonuses, and whatever you managed to squeeze out of the final scramble.
How does scoring work?
Goals are the big chunks, but they are not the whole story. You also pick up points for keeping the ball in your opponent's half, plus end-of-match bonuses based on whether you won or drew and how wide the goal difference was. A close game with lots of pressure can still put up a healthy total even if the scoreline stays tight.
What do the corner bumpers do?
They are high-bounce cushions in each corner of the pitch. Send the ball - or yourself - into one at the right angle and it can ricochet into a completely different lane. Treat them like part of your toolkit: a banked rebound often beats trying to thread a perfect straight shot through traffic.
